We took the boxes to UPS and the bags to the library. We now have shipped out over 100 pounds of sheet music and easily taken that many pounds of paperbacks and random odd books to the library. The reason I love that library connection is that if they can’t use the book, it goes on a table at one of their sales to raise money for programs. And I feel like I really contributed something today to the better good.
Next up? My Ancestry Dot Com collection of family history. I’m going to teach another round of three workshops in Family History Writing at Q.E.D. Astoria starting next Sunday, so the topic is on my mind. I want to be a good role model to my new students as well and I can’t do that if my own files are all over the place. I don’t want to suggest I’m messy because I am most definitely not messy. But there is a big box under my bed, some books and notebooks on my bookcase, and bags and boxes more in my closet.
I planned to use some Banker’s Boxes to cart away books but they went out in shopping bags to save space in the car. So now, I want to use the Banker’s Boxes to sort and organize my family history. I started this a while ago, separating my family into families by last name – not by relationship. I know now, I have to fill in the blanks and let the reader know I had every intention of doing this but never the time.
You wouldn’t buy that, would you?
Your family history projects sounds fascinating. Good luck with it.
Thanks! I have fun with it.
